Horizontal reach is 7.5 m, and like every boom lift the outreach available falls as the platform rises. Four-wheel drive lets it work off finished ground. It is also called a cherry picker.

About the Boom Loader 14 Meter
A 14 metre articulating manlift is the machine for work at height that a ladder or a tower cannot safely reach and a scaffold cannot justify. The boom bends part-way along its length, which is the point of an articulating machine: it goes up, then over. That lets the basket clear a canopy, a parapet or a parked vehicle and come back in to the face of the building, where a straight boom would have to be positioned directly beneath. Working height is 14 metres and horizontal reach is 7.5 metres, though not both at once. On every boom lift the outreach available falls as the platform rises, and the machine's chart is what governs. The platform measures 1.5 by 0.75 metres and is rated to 230 kg. That limit counts everything that goes up: two people and their tools is realistic, two people and a load of material usually is not. This is the smaller of our two manlifts and the only one offered with an electric power source as well as diesel, which is what makes it usable inside an occupied building. Four-wheel drive lets it move across a site under its own power rather than being repositioned by another machine.
What it is good for
- Building maintenance and facade work up to about four storeys
- Mechanical and electrical installation at height: ducting, cable tray, lighting, signage
- Reaching over an obstruction such as a canopy, a plant enclosure or landscaping, to reach the face of a building
- Indoor work in an occupied building, using the electric power option

What it is not for
- Lifting materials. The 230 kg platform is for people and hand tools, not for loads
- Work above about 14 metres. Take the 17 m machine, and check its chart at your outreach
- Soft, uneven or sloping ground. Four-wheel drive helps it travel; it does not let it work off level
What the site needs
Firm, reasonably level ground at the working position and along the route to it. Room to position the base far enough back to use the articulation, which is often further out than people expect. Overhead obstructions checked, particularly power lines, and the ground beneath verified where the machine will be working over a slab, a basement or a service run.

Will it reach 14 metres and 7.5 metres out at the same time?+
No, and this is the thing most worth understanding before booking. Working height and maximum outreach are separate maxima on separate parts of the chart. As the platform rises, the outreach available reduces. Tell us the height you need and how far horizontally the basket has to sit from where the machine can stand, and we will check the chart.
Can it be used indoors?+
With the electric power source, generally yes. That is what the option is for. A diesel engine running inside an occupied building is a ventilation problem and often not permitted. The 17 m machine is diesel only, so if the work is indoors this is the one to ask for. Mention it when you enquire so the right unit goes out.
How many people can go up?+
The platform is rated to 230 kg in total, and that includes the people, their tools and anything else in the basket. Two people with hand tools is the normal working assumption. Two people plus materials will usually be over the limit, and the limit is not advisory.
Does it need outriggers?+
This type of machine works from its wheels rather than deploying outriggers, which is part of why it can move around a site so easily. What it needs instead is firm and reasonably level ground, because stability comes from the chassis and the counterweight rather than from a spread base.
