About the High Up Truck 10 Ton
The 10 ton high up truck is the larger of our two crane-and-flatbed vehicles, and it is normally chosen for reach rather than for the extra three tonnes. It lifts to 15 metres and extends 10 metres out, against 12 and 8 on the 7 ton machine. On a site where the truck cannot get close to the drop point, those two metres of horizontal reach frequently decide whether the job is possible at all. The bed is 7 by 2.5 metres and the vehicle is 20 tonnes gross, so it carries more and it takes up more room. As with any crane the 10 tonne rating applies at minimum radius and reduces as the boom goes out; the useful question is not what the machine lifts in total but what it lifts at your radius, at your height. It suits deliveries and installations that would otherwise need a mobile crane plus a lorry: rooftop plant on a low building, transformers and switchgear, precast units, containers within capacity. What it will not do is reach over a building or work at height. Above 15 metres, or over an obstruction of any size, you are into mobile crane territory and should say so early.

- Lifting into a compound over a wall or fence where the truck must stand well back
- Transformers, switchgear, tanks and precast within capacity
- Moves that need a 7 x 2.5 m deck as well as a crane

What it is not for
- Lifting over buildings or to heights beyond 15 metres. That is a mobile crane job
- Tight urban positions. At 20 tonnes gross with outriggers down it needs real space
- Loads at maximum reach and maximum weight together. The chart does not allow both
What the site needs
Firm, legal standing for a 20 tonne vehicle with outriggers extended, clear of the load path. A permit or lane closure if any part occupies the highway. Ground under the outrigger pads verified, since the machine and its load bear through them, and overhead clearance checked across the full working radius.
Common questions about the High Up Truck 10 Ton
What is the real difference from the 7 ton?+
Reach, mostly. 15 metres of lift against 12, and 10 metres of horizontal reach against 8. Also a larger deck at 7 by 2.5 metres and three more tonnes of capacity. The trade is size: 20 tonnes gross against 15, so it needs more room to stand and better ground under the outriggers.
Can it place a unit on a roof?+
On a low building, often yes. That is a common use. What decides it is the height of the roof, how far back the truck has to stand from the building, and the weight. Those three together give the radius, and the radius gives the available capacity. Send all three and we will check the chart rather than guess.
When should I hire a mobile crane instead?+
When the load has to go over a building rather than up the side of one, when it is above about 15 metres, or when the truck cannot get close enough for the load to be within reach. A mobile crane sets up on outriggers and reaches; a lorry loader lifts and carries. Describe the job and we will say which is the cheaper answer.
How much space does it need?+
Enough for a 20 tonne vehicle to park and extend outriggers on both sides, clear of where the load will travel. That is considerably more than the truck's own footprint. If the standing is constrained, tell us the dimensions. Partial outrigger extension is sometimes possible, but it reduces the capacity chart.
